What is life?
Life is a process of growth, healing, transformation and awakening. It is a process of growing through our experiences and remembering who we really are below fear, training and survival tendencies. Many people feel empty or disconnected, or lost on the journey, not because something is wrong with them, but they’ve become detached from their genuine selves.
As we walk through life, traumatic experience, limiting beliefs, societal expectations and emotional wounds can gradually take us away from our inner truth. We start off live as who we think we should be, not as who we are. But in all of us there is a potential of healing, of discovering and reconnecting with ourselves. When we release the emotional baggage and false identities that hold us back, we create space for clarity, honesty, and greater connection with our greatest consciousness.
Most people do not aware they are not being themselves. Take Kim, for instance. For years she tried to please everyone around her. She was terrified to be truthful, to say what she felt, to let others down, so she made a version of herself that seemed okay for the world. She said yes when she wanted to say no. She dressed and acted in ways that won acceptance even if it made her uncomfortable. As time passed, she started to feel like she was leading a double life. It was emotionally and physically exhausting.
Then, at forty, she finally began to feel the weight of chronic emotional repression. Empty and exhausted, Kim began to seriously consider her life. She discovered that she’d been trying to live up to other people’s expectations for years, denying her own needs, aspirations, and truth. Nothing outside could fill the emptiness she felt inside. She had disconnected from herself.
That discovery marked the beginning of her therapeutic path.
She gradually reconnected to true being through inner healing. Her life began to change. She stopped comparing herself to others and started comparing herself to what brought her peace, meaning and fulfillment. She learned to speak her mind and not hide her opinions and sentiments. She stopped trying to fit in and began to live who she has always been.
In our technologically driven world, it’s easy to go disconnected from ourselves, our feelings and real human connection. We might become disconnected from our senses, intuition and inner awareness by constant distraction, pressure and performance. We are so busy trying and producing and satisfying that we forget how to just be here, alive.
The journey to a more meaningful and healthy life begins from inside. It begins with healing unresolved emotional traumas, becoming aware of unconscious tendencies and reconnecting with our genuine nature. From there, we come closer to our higher self through authenticity, deep listening, emotional awareness, intelligent communication, personal accountability, compassion and continuing progress.
“Life is not about survival, functioning or belonging.
It’s about remembering who you are, mending what estranged you from yourself, and learning how to live with more truth, presence, connection, and purpose.
